A Week In The Life of a Senior Missionary Couple in Window Rock....

Our weeks here are full and happy. On Monday last week we had a good day at the office. That evening we had Brandii, Wyatt and Pumpkin Cowboy to Family Home Evening - Elder Wilson and Elder Wight came for part of it - fun night. It is fun to see these families progress and learn. Tuesday was a fun piano lesson night and afterwards we had Travis Begay (new convert) and his sister who was here visiting him. She is a pharmacy assistant working in Louisiana.....that was a fun night. They stayed quite a while. She is coming back in July, so we'll see her again then. She had a lot of questions about the church. Wednesday night meeting with Bishop Willie to share our progress as missionaries. Thursday evening Addiction Recovery with our two young teenager boys at 6:00 and then had 8 adults to our 7:00 Meeting. Great sharing meeting and we were encouraged to see them growing as well. We love these people here.............and the blessing is - they love us back!

Saturday was a wonderful day. We drove to Snowflake AZ where there is a temple......taking the Kaaloa family from Fort Defiance. They had never been before. So the 13 year old rode with us....and the rest of the family in their car. The temple there is beautiful sitting on the hill overlooking the entire valley. The inside is gorgeous with all Native American decor and the people there are so kind...After Richard and Lucinda were married in the temple kneeling at the altar they brought in the 3 boys - oh my goodness what a beautiful sight. The boys then knelt at the altar by their parents and the baby Kelani was held by his brother and they all placed their hands on their parents hands as the man holding the Priesthood authority sealed (joined together) that little family for time and ALL ETERNITY! It was an incredible moment that will be etched in our hearts forever and ever. That truly is what missionary work is all about is getting families to be an eternal unit! We are so thankful and blessed to be a part of this work.

  1. One year gone by--our hearts are with you both. There are days we long to be back on our mission and yet we are glad to spend time here with family and friends (temple).

    We love you both--enjoy!!
