The "Tale of the Hummingbird"

Notice - that is "tale" not "tail"..........................while were at the birthday party a hummingbird (I'm sure from our bird feeder) flew into the cultural hall at the church...............and just kept flying and flying and flying overhead...............after we left from the party we were all sure we'd see it the next day dead on the floor................because it would just fly until it died.............
Well - as Elder Hafen and I were preparing for bed our door bell rang - and as we answered our door there stood the two young missionary Elders and Elder Mizelle had the little bird in his hand..............The missionaries were covered with sweat, their ties loosened and shirts untucked............it had obviously been a battle! They had tried everything to get the bird down from the ceiling (even throwing wet paper towels to try to get it to the floor).............to NO avail. And then they had the brainstorm that if they turned out all the lights, but the kitchen..........the bird would fly there where the ceiling is low and they could catch it...........WELL.....................it worked............and here they stood at our door with this tiny bedraggled bird (which we were sure would die)..........Elder Mizelle said "Let's just put him up on the feeder and maybe he'll wake up and realize where he is if you leave the light on!"................so of course we did!! After brushing our teeth we went back and "miracle" he had flown up to the top of the window on a tiny ledge there..............still looking pretty bedraggled..............We waited about 15 minutes and then went out again and he was flying weakly around the porch but we could hear the "hmmmmmmmm" and lo and behold this morning he has gone!!!!!!!!!!!! SO miracles do happen.........even if it is a bird!!!!
