An Afternoon at the Flea Market in Window Rock....

Today is the day Elder Hafen took Sister Hafen to the Flea Market to buy "turquoise"............beautiful sunny Friday Afternoon.............there were many vendors this week because of the 4th of July! What fun to watch all the people there....................We purchased a Navajo pendent for her chain and a pair of ear rings to match that and a Zuni necklace with ear rings to match. The Navajo use mostly turquoise in their jewelry and the Zuni do inlay work....will send pictures later of the differences. They are so beautiful. The vendor we bought them from came from Gallup (and they had NICE things).............of course they tell you that everything is 50-60% off.............but we did get a good price for them and were happy to make a purchase. We have looked for 2 months now.

The Elders set up a booth each week at the flea market and get lots of referrals from this contact - some of them stay in the booth and others wander through all the crowds of people.
